Teacher`s Day around the world is not celebrated on the same day. In some countries. Teacher`s Day is celebrated on working days. Whereas. in other countries. it is celebrated on holidays. However. the day of celebration. itself. holds no significance. What matters. is the feeling behind the celebration of Teacher`s Day.

Teacher`s Day on Holidays

Thailand
January 16 was adopted as Teachers` Day in the Thailand by a resolution of the government on November 21. 1956. The first Teachers` Day was held in 1957.

Iran
In Iran. Teacher`s Day is celebrated on May 2. It commemorates the assassination day of Iranian professor Ayatollah Morteza Motahhari on May 2. 1980.

Teacher`s Day on Working Days
Turkey
In Turkey. Teacher`s Day is celebrated on 24th of November. Kemal Atat��rk dedicated November 24th to teachers. There is no holiday on this day.

Malaysia
In Malaysia. May 16th is celebrated as Teacher`s Day. The day is a working day.
