In response, a spokesperson for the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council said yesterday that 1.4 billion Chinese people and the majority of patriotic Hong Kong people will work together, and the conspiracy of the chaotic Hong Kong elements will not succeed.

日前，香港极少数极端激进分子又一次把国旗抛入海中，爱国爱港人士又一次把五星红旗升起。对此，国务院港澳办新闻发言人昨天表示，14亿中国人民和广大爱国爱港人士同心同德，乱港分子的阴谋不会得逞。
